My first investing experience came as a high school sophomore when I won my class’s stock-picking competition by investing in technology stocks. I was hooked. Despite knowing next to nothing about the stock market (and even less about private capital markets), I knew I wanted to become an investor. From that moment on, I set out to read, watch, and listen to anything related to finance that I could get my hands on.

To build a stronger foundation in finance, I returned home to Houston after graduating from college and began my career in the Energy Investment Banking Group at Scotiabank. There, I worked on mergers and acquisitions, as well as strategic advisory engagements, across the energy value chain with clients throughout the Americas, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. While I enjoyed working with many of the bank’s publicly traded clients on large-scale, transformative transactions, I realized my true passion lay in collaborating with earlier, growth-stage companies.

Starting my career during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 gave me firsthand insight into the transformative power of technology in helping enterprises—and people—adapt and maintain vital connections. Combined with my passion for investing, this deepened my desire to focus on partnering with and investing in technology companies. Delta-v’s unique investment strategy, coupled with its incredible team of former operators and engineers, stood out to me and made joining the investment team—and packing my bags for Rocky Mountain views in Colorado—an easy decision.
